Day #567 Baby Bluebirds !

About all you can see in this picture is four bulgy dark blue tightly closed eyes. My granddaughter Savannah and I took a peek Monday afternoon while Mama Bluebird perched on the phone line overhead and eyed us suspiciously.

This year, I hope I’ll finally get to see the babies when they fly for the first time. I’ve never yet seen the bluebirds take off, although I did see the Carolina wren babies a couple of years ago, and my heart still feels all warm thinking about that sight.
BEEattitude for Day #567:
Blessed are those who make nesting places available (for us bees as well as for those birds), for they shall have buzzing and songs to brighten their days.

Just a moment before I snapped the picture, they all had their little mouths wide open. Guess I didn't sound like Mama Bluebird to them, though, so they shut up really quickly.

Made my day on the 1st of May!Thanks for that. Once lifted the lid of an old rusty handled waterpump in the garden of old house I was looking at and found 4 little blue tit chicks looking up-think I was more astonished than they were but it was a nice feeling to connect with nature.Mum and dad were going up the spout to feed the chicks so I hope they all hatched safely. usually ignore my nest boxes so I guess they know what they want for their family.
