Day #266 Mouse Problems

The other day I took a look at the cardboard piece I have under the hive. It’s there to catch the pollen the bees drop through the screened hive bottom.

I hadn’t cleaned it off for a couple of days, since I have enough pollen in my fridge to fuel a biplane, and I think that might have been a mistake. A mouse seems to have found a new restaurant. Pollen Place, I think it’s called, with a bit of a Mediterranean flair.

As you can see, Ms. Mouse has been going to town, although why she'd shew cardboard when she can have pure pollen is more than I can guess.

I’ve ditched the cardboard for a while, which means the pollen is piling up on the cinder block, just waiting for Ms. Mouse to appear at midnight. If I could convince the fuzzies to move, I’d be able to get a little brush under the hive to clean off the cinder block.

They never tell you things like this in beekeeping 101.

BEEattitude for Day # 266:
Blessed are those who bumble along, for they shall eventually get somewhere.
